Western Australia South Coast

This year we did a quick 7 day road trip down the South Coast of Western Australia. We hired a Britz Camper van and headed south from Perth without any agenda. Margaret River was our favourite spot, with a good mix of warmer weather and lots to see and do. Peaceful Bay near Albany was beautiful, and we scored a lobster from the guys are the Peaceful Bay store. We weren’t setup to go off-road, so we stayed on the bitumen for the most part and we still feel there is plenty we need to come back again to see.

Enjoy! L & H

Riversleigh Fossil Dig

Today we are going to a Top Secret location with a team of Paleontologists from the University of NSW. Once a year the Paleontologists come to Riversleigh and dig for fossils. Sir David Attenborough claims that Riversleigh is the fourth best fossil dig in the world at present.

One of the highlights of the day was finding a jaw bone that belonged to a Marsupial Lion that roamed Australia 25 million years ago.

This was a very exciting day.

We hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
